YHPAA is a member of the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (HSC). Together we seek to accomplish one goal: to open the doors to opportunity for Hispanic students through access to higher education. HSC is a collective of grassroots organizations across Central Texas that, through financial assistance and mentoring, helps Hispanic students get into and succeed in college. From scholarships to college counseling to career development services, HSC’s member and partner organizations offer Hispanic scholars the chance to pursue the first step of their dreams by attaining a college education. During the fall semester of 2007, YHPAA began providing a $2,000 scholarship award to Thaislen Perez. Ms. Perez recently completed her second semester at the University of Texas-Austin. In August 2008, YHPAA awarded a $2,000 scholarship to both Denise Trevino and Enrique Sais III through the partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium.
