YHPAA's new lunch mentorship program "Bridges to Education" focuses on middle school students. The purpose is to give students an opportunity to have lunch and chat with a professional about their work, school, goals, etc. BTE provides support to middle school students in a stress-free environment.

Each professional will have 3-4 students and the lunch chat begins. Easy for professionals to get out of work over their lunch time and easy for the students because of their lunch time too! For more info. contact: Veronica Chapa-Jones, community@yhpaa.org.

Univision Cinco de Mayo Education Fair, Sunday May 4th at the Travis Expo. YHPAA members promoted the value of education to over 250 students (ages 3-16) and parents by having them sign a high school graduation contract! Thank you to Javier Valdez, Cindy Medina, Ben Ramirez, Monica Peña, Araceli Brown, and Linda Medina.
Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros Event, Saturday, April 26th at St. John's Branch Library and Community Center. YHPAA members made bookmarks with the students and distributed free children's books to promote reading! Thank you to Veronica Chapa Jones, Monica Peña, Araceli Brown, Thaislen Perez, Melissa Robledo, and Cammy Lopez.
